Some example Java applets I have written

I have just discovered Java. In fact I am having to crash though it headlong in order to write various Java projects for Wrox Press. In the process, I practise it by converting a lot of my old programs into Java and generally just "fiddling around" to see what I can produce.

Personally, I don't rate Java all that highly. Perhaps it was the hype - people kept telling me "You'll like Java, because it's like C++ only a lot easier." Well, I found it slightly harder if anything - all that nonsense about having to define things in classes, and paint and repaint etc. Still, the one great advantage of Java is that it lets you embed proper programs right in the middle of your web pages, and that is what allows me to give you these examples of what I have written.

In each case, I have included a download for the applet class and another for the applet source code, which you are free to amend, re-use etc. as you think fit.
