Statistics using Excel

This part of the Excel tutorial shows you how you can apply it to calculating statistical functions, used by fascinating people such as accountants and actuaries (sarcasm doesn't really come over on web sites, does it?) I, myself, find these topics rather boring - because I have a life - but in order to pay the bills I have to teach them to students. Hence this part of the site.

Each spreadsheet is accompanied by a short explanation of how it works, and a maths tutorial on the topic concerned. You may well have come across these via other routes through the site. I make no apologies for reusing this material, as web space is limited, and I am too busy to write two versions of the same thing.

Here's the deal. Below you will see a list of statistical topics. Each one has a link to a web page explaining the theory of that particular statistical method, a link to a web page explaining how the spreadsheet itself works, and two links that download spreadsheets - one an Excel 97 version, the other an Excel 95 version.
